Location and searches
You can browse without granting location permission. If you choose Use my location, the browser asks for permission. Your device sends its current coordinates directly to BigDataCloud to resolve a city and country. Coordinates are rounded to two decimal places before weather-provider lookup and may be cached as part of that lookup. They do not appear in public page URLs or analytics events. Search text is sent to our server and Open-Meteo geocoding to return matching places.
Third-party map and weather services
The interactive map loads from OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap services. Map providers receive ordinary connection information such as IP address and requested map tiles. Weather and place requests are normally made through our server. Official source links take you to independently operated websites with their own privacy practices.
Cookies and similar storage
The site stores a temperature-unit choice in session storage for the current visit, and your advertising and analytics choice in local storage on this device. Those values stay in your browser. We do not sell personal information.
Advertising
Pages include Google AdSense (publisher pub-3302377902898255). Google and other advertising vendors may place and read cookies, or use web beacons, IP addresses and similar identifiers, to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Advertising does not change warning text, map colors or forecast values. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com) and at https://www.aboutads.info/choices. Analytics
Optional Google Analytics loads only after you allow it and only if the site owner has configured a measurement ID. Analytics is used to learn which forecasts and guides are used. Exact coordinates and search text are not sent as analytics events. Technical performance measurements can be emitted inside your browser without being sent to an analytics service. You can change your choice on this privacy page.
Security and retention
Short-lived request limits use an IP-derived hash that changes each minute. Rate-limit records expire after two minutes and are periodically removed. Provider responses are cached; old unused cache rows are periodically removed after seven days. Official warning archives contain public warning information, not a personal location history. Hosting providers may maintain operational logs under their own policies.
